Star Tribune editorial praises Crosstown Commons

A Star Tribune editorial on Saturday praised the new Crosstown Commons, saying "The $288 million project is an example of what can be accomplished by the design, engineering and construction competence of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and private contractors; by persistent politicians who insisted that the disruption was worth it; and, most important, by Minnesota's taxpayers, who made a wise infrastructure investment."

It's notable for our industry because

1) The project was constructed with concrete to provide a long life cycle pavement and to reduce the maintenance required that would impact traffic flow in the future.
2) This project was constructed by highly skilled Minnesota contractors: Ames Construction of Burnsville, Minn; Shafer Contracting of Shafer, Minn. The Ready Mix was provided by ARM member Aggregate Industries.
3) The editorial recognized the management and staff of the Minnesota Department of Transportation in delivering this complex project.
