Commissioners repeal county gravel tax measure

Washington County's 30-year-old gravel tax ordinance was quietly repealed Tuesday by the Board of Commissioners in the wake of a state law that takes away the board's discretion in disbursing revenue from the tax. The county instead will follow state law in collecting the tax from aggregate haulers and disbursing the money generated by the tax.
