PCA Revises Its Fall 2012 Cement Construction Forecast

Stronger than expected job creation and the beginning of a construction industry recovery means gains in real construction spending will materialize this year - after 7 years of consecutive declines. According to the new forecast from the Portland Cement Association (PCA), increases in cement consumption will follow.

So, with our expectations lowered, it's time to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, known better as MIT. Here, concrete is treated with an admiration more often reserved for diamonds or gold, especially by Franz-Josef Ulm, one of the top professors in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
