Survey points to more pain in construction hiring

A Manpower hiring survey out Tuesday calls into question whether Minnesota's slight uptick in construction jobs will continue into 2012 - even as the overall hiring situation brightens.

Construction and nondurable manufacturing such as food and paper products are the two sectors in the state where job cuts are planned in next year's first quarter, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. The Minneapolis-St. Paul area will also see staffing reductions in government.
