Duluth storm damage could exceed $100M

State transportation officials are assessing the horrific storm damage in Duluth and making preparations for repairs, a process that will most likely include emergency contracts with local road builders. . . .

Beth Petrowske, a Minnesota Department of Transportation spokesperson in District 1, which includes Duluth, said the damage is “very widespread,” adding that the cost will probably be over $100 million.
In addition, she said, the severe weather has affected MnDOT projects under construction, including the $68 million Interstate 35 “mega project.”
