Bridge experts study load capacity on precast concrete spans

A nondescript concrete span over Interstate 94 in Stearns County has become a laboratory of sorts for bridge experts. Crews affixed electronic sensors to the bridge at Stearns County Road 159 (135th Avenue) over I-94 this week as part of a three-year study that aims to produce better load ratings for precast concrete bridges, a popular type in Minnesota.
