According to a recent letter from Joseph A. Main, the assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health, six coal miners and five metal/nonmetal miners died in work-related accidents from July 1 to September 30, 2012. Main started mailing quarterly reports about mining fatalities to our friends at NSSGA and other mining organizations in 2011.
