Geologist Ernie Lehmann dead at 84

Ernie Lehmann, a Minnesota exploration geologist died on December 13 in Minneapolis. He worked in the mining industry around the world and his accomplishments include discovery of significant metal deposits in North and South America. He also did pioneering exploration of the Duluth Complex in northern Minnesota. He contributed his time and talents to SME and was active in local and state politics. The funeral is set for Friday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis.
