A monster year for potholes

Pavement experts are saying what most Minnesotans have already figured out by now. This is a really bad winter for potholes.

A destructive combination of consistent and heavy snowfalls, extreme cold followed by a tease of moderate temperatures, liberal doses of snow-melting chemicals and even a few sprinkles of rain have put loads of pressure on roads and highways this season.

The results is a bone-jarring ride for motorists . . . .
