Every June, Lafarge runs a public campaign focused on road safety. The 2011 campaign, "Safe Choice Smart Move," emphasized the choices everyone can make to prevent transportation-related incidents. The company offered defensive driving courses at many of its locations. At the home office offices in Lee's Summit, Mo., a NASCAR DUI simulator demonstrated the dangers of drunk driving. It's concrete plant in Ravena, N.Y. hosted exercises involving a distracted driving course and a blind spot exercise.
