Small crowd attends information meeting on silica sand mining

A group of about 75 interested persons attended an informational meeting on silica sand mining at the La Crescent High School Fine Art Center on March 19. The public meeting had been scheduled a month earlier before the county  board voted to approve a one-year moratorium on frac sand mining in the county during the February 28 county board meeting.
